Common Questions From Commercial Clients
Isn't EIFS the same as traditional stucco?
No. Traditional stucco is a cement-based cladding. EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) is a complete multi-layer wall assembly: continuous exterior insulation, a fiberglass-reinforced base coat, and an acrylic finish coat over an air/water-resistive barrier. EIFS insulates the building continuously, weighs roughly 80% less than traditional stucco, and delivers dramatically better energy performance. See the full comparison →
How do you prevent the moisture problems that plagued older EIFS systems?
Modern drainage EIFS is a fundamentally different assembly from the face-sealed barrier systems of the 1990s. Every IN-EX installation includes a continuous air/water-resistive barrier, a drainage plane, and engineered detailing at every penetration and transition — installed in the correct sequence, verified by third parties, and backed by manufacturer warranties.
What does "Building Science Applied" actually mean for my project?
